Pitcher Festival has announced the extension of the deadline for entries to Pitcher Awards 2021 to 15 April. According to the festival, this is based on the many requests it was getting for time extension.
Pitcher Awards is the Pan-African benchmark for creative excellence and entries are open to works created, released or implemented anywhere in Africa. This year, Pitcher Awards introduced the Entertainment category, which includes: Entertainment Film, Entertainment Audio, Media Promo, Live Events, Sports, Use of Music, Music Video and Comic Skits to the existing Heritage, Channel, Digital and Good. A special one-off subcategory for 2021 was also created in Good category to honour great work that has been made to address issues relating to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Winners will first be announced on the Pitcher Awards Show on 22 May as part of the closing event for the Pitcher Festival of Creativity taking place online from 20 - 22 May, 2021; then showcased on several international platforms following the announcement.
