As many creative leaders will note, the more divergent the ideas that are brought to bear in solving a problem, the more innovative the solution is likely to be. Beginning with personal diversity, individuals that imbibe other cultures, languages and a variety of skills are generally better positioned to see more sides to an issue. When you have different people working in a group and sharing from different perspectives, it provides greater depth and richness of ideas. In the same way, working in gender diverse groups ensures that solutions are optimized by taking advantage of those leadership qualities where women are said to outperform their male colleagues like empathy, emotional intelligence and the power of persuasion.

Join our panel of speakers for this session of See It Be It Africa as they draw from experience and share anecdotes to make the case for diversity and gender inclusiveness in the creative workplace.

See It Be It is a Cannes Lions initiative that addresses the gender imbalance in senior creative leadership. It is a career development and acceleration programme for women in the creative communications industry who face diversity challenges and want to lead the way for change. However, this session hosted on the See It Be It Africa platform is open to all delegates at the Pitcher Festival of Creativity.
